>"My interest in mosaics started growing in 2003, when I designed my first piece (you can find pictures in my gallery under "beginner's work").
> Since then, I'm really fascinated by mosaics with all their facets. That's why I see them in everything, even in paved streets or in tiled floors.
> In 2004 I broadened my theoretical knowledge, which I acquired through different sources and which I summarized in a so called "Besondere Lernleistung" (some kind of written paper, which was part of my final school exam. Parts of the original German version under "History and Techniques").
> In the same year I tought a group of students at my school about some techniques in connection with a weeklong schoolproject (pictures in my gallery).
> In order to learn more about the historical development of mosaic art, it is for sure helpful to get a wider field of vision and to get some new ideas for your own practical work. But still, frequent experimenting and playing with material, color and subject, are indispensable to a wide understanding. However, this is the most exciting about mosaics: They have such a versatility that you, after just having finished a piece, can't wait to start a new project.
> For this reason, even though I prefer certain materials, I don't want to decide on my final style now. There is still too much to discover! That's what I learned as well in summer 2005 in California after the workshops I participated in (more about this in my gallery).
> I wish everybody who is interested in mosaics, a handful of creativity, passion and curiosity."
