| | | | The 2006 Chelsea International Fine Art Competition | Description
International Deadline: March 8, 2006 - Agora Gallery of New York City is pleased to announce its 21st International Juried Competition. The competition is open to artists 18 years of age or older working in all media with the exception of video art, film and interactive art.
Juror
Manon Slome, chief curator of the Chelsea Art Museum, New York City, and an independent curator and art consultant in New York. During her six year tenure at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, Ms. Slome curated Africa:The Art of a Continent and China: 5000 Years . Ms. Slome also curated The Art of the Motorcycle at the Guggenheim's space in Bilbao, Spain. Formerly the Helena Rubinstein Curatorial Fellow at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Ms. Slome has produced numerous collections and independent gallery shows in New York, London and Hong Kong.
Prizes
15-20 Artists will be selected to participate in a collective exhibition at the Agora Chelsea gallery located at 530 West 25th St. New York NY
6 Artists will receive free Internet publication and promotion on www.Art-Mine.com
1 Artist will be awarded a one-page review by an art critic in the next issue of ArtisSpectrum magazine*

Submissions
All mailed work will be judged from slides or photographs only - do not send a CD of your work - use our web site to submit image files. Number the visuals from 1 - 5 corresponding to the entry form. Slides = must be 35mm regular slides - do not send glass or metal slides. Photographs = not to exceed 8x10 inches. Mark each slide or photograph with your name and telephone number and indicate the top of the work with a red dot.
You must include a self addressed stamped envelope to insure the return of your submission
Please note: Agora Gallery is not responsible for loss or damage to any portfolio material.
Fees
Non-refundable fee of $35 for up to 5 visuals (35mm slides, photographs - not to exceed 8x10 inches) and $5 for each additional visual you may submit as many visuals as you would like. The competition fee must be included with the submission. Fee can be paid by credit card, check or money orders. If you are paying by check then the check should be from a US bank. If you are paying by money order it MUST be in US dollars.

Agora Gallery will retain 30% of all sales while the work is on display.
Dates
The completed entry form, prints, fee and SASE must be received by March 8, 2006. Winners will be notified by March 30th. Works selected for exhibition must be delivered July 14th or 15th.
